Hair Types

So our hair types varies. Sometimes it hard for us to tell our hair type. The chart below can definitely give you some sort of guidance in this matter.

Here is my hair type 4a

Hair

Please people, I don't want you to asume that I am against chemically processed hair. I'm not I've had chemicals in my hair since I was 12years old. But now that I am older I wish to try new things and to explore me and my hair. I am really tired of having to put my hair through the same thing month after month. I jus wanted a change. So February of this year I decided no more chemicals!

I am aware how big of a challenge this will be for me but I am willing to take that chance. I love all hair types, I prefer to see hair healthy and beautiful. After all thats part of our beauty so all we need to do is to take care of it.

Beauty

The English dictionary describes beauty as  "the quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses and is associated with the such properties as harmony of form or color, excellence of artistry, truthfulness and originality."

With this definition the words "excellence of artistry" and "truthfulness and originality" stand out to me the most. That's the kind of beauty I want to shine through me! I wanna be true to the way God made me as much as I can.

A lot of the people around me we quite upset with my decision to go natural but, it still is my decision to make. I hear the remarks and it just highlights their own insecurities. I love my hair it defines me!

Welcome

Hi, I my name is Josanne and I and from Trinidad and Tobago. I love my island and more so the Island life. I have been doing a lot of research about naturally beautiful women of the Caribbean. I was dissappointed to find a lot of women not being confident in themslves, tring to change their hair, face, bodies, personaliteis to conform to a society that never seems to be satisfied.

I too was apart of that generation of caribbean women longing to find that place where I felt as though I belonged. I have decided to change my views, my thoughts, my life and become the beautiful woman I know I can be from the inside out! (Not the other way around).

This blog is about being proud of who you are no matter creed or race. I believe that true beauty shines from within. I have taken a natural hair journey and I hope that my journey helps someone to feel better about themsleves and inturn encourage other women to do the same.
